BSBC Alumna Named Outstanding Young Alumni Award Honoree

Jacquelyn Renée Schneider (BC ‘06, MBA ‘18) is the 2022 recipient.

The Outstanding Young Alumni award is one of four categories honored at the Georgia Institute of Technology Alumni Association’s Gold & White Honors Gala each year. It is given to a Georgia Tech alumnus/alumna who has not reached his/her fortieth birthday by February 4, 2022 and who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to Georgia Tech and the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, the community and his/her profession.

We sat down with Jacquelyn Renée Schneider to discuss her time in the School of Building Construction and her advice for current students and new alumni.

Opportunities to Share Your Experience and Expertise

Alumni often ask for additional ways to get involved. There are plenty of ways that the School of Building Construction could benefit from your involvement. Here are just a few:

  • Provide an internship or career opportunity to a student: Students need the experience and you need the talent. Hire a student today.
  • Mentor a student: Spending time with a student and sharing your experience is an excellent way to help shape a future leader.
  • Host a site visit: Do you have an interesting project or facility in the metro area? Students learn so much from visiting these active sites and completed complex facilities. Consider opening your site or office for a student tour.
  • Visit a class: Share your expertise and bring positive attention to your organization. Many of the faculty seek guest speakers, panelists, and judges for Capstone, etc.
  • Schedule an Info Session: Our students want to hear and learn how you have made an impact within your organization and how your organization can be a potential match for their career path.
  • Scholarship/Fund a graduate student: Students always seek funding to complete their degree. Your donation can provide a scholarship for a deserving student. Graduate students may also be funded for providing research for your organization.
