John Threadgill has over 35 years of experience in design, real estate development, and teaching. He received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. Combining a career as both an urban designer and landscape architect on award-winning projects worldwide, he has been involved with complex design strategies in urban environments as diverse as a former steel mill site in Pittsburgh, and a historic train station in Milan, Italy. As a developer, John has helped create signature residential and mixed-use projects in New York and Atlanta. He is a licensed landscape architect in the state of Georgia and was certified in LEED AP for Neighborhood Development. 

As an adjunct professor at Auburn University over four years, John taught courses in research, design, history, theory, and professional practice in the Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Real Estate Development programs. At Georgia Tech, he currently teaches in both the Master of Real Estate Development and the Master of City and Regional Planning programs. Here the focus of his teaching and of his research will be that bridge in the relationship between design and real estate development that can help make better places. 

John is also the founder and President of the firm RDO / Research+Development Office, Inc., which is a real estate consulting business that offers a broad range of services to property owners and investors.
