Biography
Currently a Principal Research Scientist at Georgia Institute of Technology, Enterprise Innovation Institute. Houlroyd manages a team of five industrial hygienists and oversees the health-related activities and training programs for the program.
- Produced 19 educational videos for the cut stone industry about respirable crystalline silica exposure.
- Co-Director of the OSHA 7215 Silica in Construction, Maritime, and General Industries Course 2020-present
- Served as Co-Principal Investigator for the Susan Harwood Grant focused on Infectious Diseases (COVID-19) Awareness Training for Healthcare and the funeral home industry. Managed a budget of $180K.
- Served as Co-Principal Investigator for a “Follow-on study for Peracetic Acid-Based Disinfectants among Poultry Processing Workers.” Managed a budget of $54k.
- Served at Principal Investigator for the study: “A Pilot Study of Exposures to Peracetic Acid-Based Disinfectants Among Poultry Processing Workers.” Funded by US Poultry and Egg Association. Managed a budget of $125k.
- Adjunct Instructor for the Professional master’s in occupational safety and Health (PMOSH) program through the School of Building Construction at Georgia Institute of Technology. Teaches the industrial hygiene course for the program. (2017 to present)
