Spencer Pursley Wins CMAA-SAC Scholarship

Congratulations to incoming Ph.D. student Spencer Pursley who recently won the 2018 Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) - South Atlanta Chapter Scholarship!

His award of $2,000 was presented by Terry L. Herr, Executive Vice President & Studio Principal of Pieper O’Brien Herr Architects; and Stacy Chapman, President of CMAA-SAC and Business Development Director of Pieper O’Brien Herr Architects at the 2018 Annual Project Achievement Awards Gala on June 12th.

The CMAA-SAC offers academic scholarships to full‐time students pursuing a related degree to architecture, engineering, or construction management.

“I have always had a fascination with construction and the built environment,” Pursley shared. “I am especially fascinated by the way materials and components come together to form a complete system, as well as the logistics involved in the life of a project. I view attending Georgia Tech as a chance to be at the forefront of both cutting-edge research and practical applications being developed for the benefit of the construction industry and the environment.”

Pursley received his BS/MS from the Auburn University College of Architecture, Design, and Construction
