Xinyi Song is an assistant professor in the School of Building Construction at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Song completed her Ph.D. from the Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at Columbia University in 2013. After joining Georgia Tech in 2012, her initial research focused on construction dispute resolution and dispute-related risk management as a continuance of her doctoral dissertation. Over the years, she capitalized on her experience with human-centered research and interest in the sustainable built environment and developed a new and independent line of study focusing on human factors in a building’s life cycle. Song's work has been published in top peer-reviewed journals, and she is currently a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Health in Buildings Roundtable (HiBR) Scholar.
