Our Commitment to Building Equity

Our Commitment to Building Equity

The School of Building Construction champions diversity and inclusion and embraces it as part of the School culture.

We make intentional decisions that foster recruitment and retention of a diverse academic community. Our community includes undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff of color and other underrepresented groups.

We recognize the benefits created by an educational environment that promotes opportunities across race, gender, religious, national origin, age, disability, and sexual orientation groups.

Our approach to inclusiveness is to respect and encourage the value and the differences that come with diversity, and to embrace an academic setting that celebrates eclectic elements through teaching, research and outreach.

We Prepare Our Students

The School prepares future innovators and leaders for construction management, facility management, and program management, and conducts transformative research in these areas.

Our students put their passion for the built environment above everything else. They want to help each other even though their backgrounds are different. They are equal here.

The School fosters a persistent commitment to excellence in education, leadership, collaboration, technology, sustainability, and community engagement.

Our students and graduates shape the future of construction and display influence at its best. This influence has characterized our School for the past 60 years.

Let's Build Equity Together

We strive to be diverse and inclusive and to interact with positive influences across the globe.

"We Shape the Future of Construction" with our actions and commitment. We stand for racial justice and inclusiveness and ask that you notify us of any encounter at the School that contradicts this goal.

The Institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (IDEI) office at Georgia Tech offers resources and programs to promote the academic growth and success of underrepresented women and minorities. On the About Us page for IDIE, they "ensure that Tech's core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded in equal opportunity and non-discrimination practices."
